It is difficult to say exactly what the inspiration behind this image was. There have been a lot of changes in my life that resulted in my year long avoidance of new art, among other things. I would guess that my creation of this is tied to the symbolism of the sun cresting the horizon at the start of a new day; a reminder that even though the sun sets on one part of life, a completely new one can start after a long cold night.
There wasn’t much work put into this image compared to many others. To be honest I don’t believe it to be one of my better ones. Though there is a definite magic created by the simplicity of the landscape and the washed out hues.
